So excited...

Until this week, if you tried to entertain Fiona with anything colorful or noisy, you would get no reaction. Now the little orange animal that's been hanging from her car seat for months actually serves a purpose, I try to remember to throw a rattle or something in the diaper bag before leaving the house and although she's been loving her bouncy chair alone for the past month or so, the newly attached toy bar has brought the fun to a whole new level.

I can't even put into words how amazing it is to watch your kid explore and learn. When I see pride on her face as she learns cause and effect, I want to melt. Sometimes watching her literally brings tears to my eyes. Motherhood is awesome!

Favorite Trick

Jon came home from work one day and, as usual, was excited to see the little babe. He held her up to look at her, but every time he'd move into her line of view she turned her head. This video does not do it justice, but at least you get the idea.

Is it a bad sign if a girl learns to ignore her father before she's even three months old?

Water Baby!

Starting with her first shampoo in the hospital, Fiona has always been rather fond of water.

Her first dip in the freezing Atlantic didn't even bring tears.

And after I finally figured out how to keep her from freezing through half of her bath she's learned to love bath time.

Her naked little body is so stinking cute. We were just admiring her dimply little behind the other day (darn...no picture). I need to remember to leave her diaper-less more often.

Sweet Mornings

Nothing spectacular--unless, of course, you're her mother. But considering how fast these first 11 weeks have gone, I can only assume it's just going to get faster. I don't want to forget how sweet and tiny she is right now.
