Fiona turned 2!!!

She woke up to some giant gifts too big to be wrapped.

Thanks Nanny and Papa!
She's been enjoying every meal and snack here since...

When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner she said ketchup.  When I asked what she wanted with the ketchup, she said french fries.  It had been a really long (I think fun--this is what happens when I wait to long to post) weekend, so Jon picked up McDonalds for dinner.  I know, I know--it's a disgusting weakness of mine...besides, you try finding dairy-free fast food.  It's hard.

Ever since Nanny came to town and got me a red velvet cake for my birthday (which was AMAZING!), Fiona has said she wants red cake for her birthday.   I started looking at recipes--of course all of them had dairy.  How could you make a cake without milk?  But it seemed ridiculous to put the work into a homemade cake for a 2 year to eat all by herself.  Then Duncan Hines came to my rescue.  Randomly their red velvet cake mix was on an endcap at the grocery.  Red velvet in a box?  Awesome!  Who cares if I can eat it or not...at least she'll get her beloved red cake.  I checked the ingredients just out of curiosity, and as an added bonus, it's dairy free!!  And so is their white frosting!!

She was SO excited.

After she devoured her cake, she daintily ripped open a bath frog, purse and swim suit (which she later wouldn't take off) from Grandma and a couple minor gifts from Mom and Dad--I know, quite the spoiled little birthday girl, but I couldn't NOT wrap anything for her birthday.

It's crazy having the simultaneous emotions of, "I can't believe she's already 2!"  and "She's only been around for two years?  I can't remember life before her..."   All in all, it was quite a happy day for this little lady.

We love you SO much Fiona Josephine!!
