A New Game

It's funny how much I don't realize how hard Fiona is to understand sometimes.  I guess I take for granted that being with her all day, every day, gives me a one up on most everyone else.  It's especially noticeable when we have visitors in from out of town.

Jon's been working with her on "s".  Oddly enough, I'd never noticed, but she leaves the s off of all words that start with "s" and are followed by a consonant.  "Step" is "tep", "scoop" is "coop", etc.  She also has always had trouble with "f"...which is usually pronounced as "sh".  I love that she calls herself "Sheshe" and rarely correct her.  But the other day she was making "coshee" and I said "coffee".  Of course she says it beautifully after repeating me.  And the she says excitedly, "Now do 'coop'!"...and continued with all the other "s" words she would think of.

At least she knows she's pronouncing them wrong and can do it right when asked--even at her request--right?
